VCT 201

Hello,

This class has really pushed me to practice more adjustments ! When I’m at work and I adjust someone’s pair of glasses I really make sure I put my all. Seeing a patient very much happy and full filled makes my day so much.

Also wanted to thank you Maryann for the lecture on the I&R, I learned something new in the removal portion. I can’t wait to try it on my next I&R!

Greetings,

I’m not sure what to talk about in this blog for this class since we really don’t have in person class , but I can speak on my internship/ job. I still been floating around , especially now that everyone’s on vacation. Looking forward to just being in one location, hopefully that’s very much soon .

Hello,

VCT 202 has been very complex and easy to follow, we do miss you! I feel like these blogs and our journal entry’s are a way to communicate with you ! Hope everything is good ! I was very proud and thankful walking that stage, want to give you a special thanks to you! You’re a great teacher and i’m glad I had a chance to witness that.

Back to this blog, I find the journey entry’s to be a great stress reliever, I enjoy writing especially talking about my weeks at work helps me evaluate what I can work on and what really annoys me in the workplace lol !

Hello,

Let’s speak on CLs, my favorite subject minus the hard ones lol. Since last semester that we started the insertion and removal of the cls, I started to enjoy it and grasp it very quickly. Mostly everyone in my Wednesday class has grasped it very smoothly, but I really enjoy anything that involves cls. I’m actually going to start wearing contacts again, I’m going to get fitted Monday. Back to the hard Cls, they felt very much like a rock in your eye. It was so hard to blink with them, let alone even open it. I can’t imagine someone getting used to that feeling.

In regards to handling the insertion and removal of the cls, I believe is very easy. The only difference is obviously where you’re placing them and when you remove you want to make sure not to do the dragging method.

To start off I’m so sad this is our class class with Rebecca at least in person ! Thank you for everything , you’ve taught me so much and I’m thankful for having a professor like you ! I’m so appreciative for all the review I got up to this point … especially last semester which was the roughest for me ! I’ve taken so much knowledge and I’m very proud to apply it to my new job at Harvey and Lewis ! I feel so much more confident at what I do and I can say you help me a lot with that especially in the optical training store !

VCT 204

We are finally finishing up and going on our last semester . It’s honestly and bitter sweet feeling ! It’s reality but than I think to myself like wow we have really come this far and I’m very proud and also sad … in the sense that the program is cooking go an end ! I’m gonna miss seeing our professors / classmates . It was always fun in class , I learned so much and my technique with K readings/ slit lamp/ reading bitoric and spherical lenses have improved , that I even amazed myself ! Can’t wait to see what’s in store for our class class this summer !

VCT 204

I’m loving flipping lids checking for NO GPC ! Slit lamp is my favorite ! It’s enjoyable once you have your flow it makes things smoother ! Taking K reading as well has become second nature and I’m glad we have gotten to practice much more ! My favorite part is inserting and removing CLs! The scissor method is my choice for removal ! I shocked my self on how simpler it is for me !

Dispensing is going good, I’m liking the optical store experience …. especially just getting practice and getting comfortable on selling and feeling the patient . It’s not as overwhelming as I made it seem in my head …. the clients are very laid back and was very open to what I had for her . I really enjoyed the aspect of helping the patient with the best fit . I found it very fun and I’m glad I enjoyed it .

Hello,

To start, the optical store is my favorite thing to look forward to this semester ! I’m excited /nervous to get the hands on learning with an actual patient! Everything to come together and apply it on the store is exciting for me. Practice makes better of course ! Also looking forward to upping/ sharpening our skills edging wise and for adjustments as well in the lab.

Last semester was hectic ( also being pregnant) that I felt like I didn’t get enough time that I wanted in the lab, that I’m really looking forward to revisit this semseter.
